Information and Analysis

This piece is considered to be the most famous amongst Luo's works. Sculpted in her

signature, the woman seems to resonate with elegance. The bronze lady holds a wind instrument in her hands as she stands and looks to the side as her dress flows in the figurative winds. The decision to make the lady hold a wind instrument could be a compliment to the figurative winds that are making the lady's skirt flow. As with most of her sculptures, their sense of femininity plays a defining role in her works which helps carry on the tradition of realistic sculptures in the art (Barnes, 2017). This shows that even with the flow of time, the art style of the renaissance periods is still preserved and practised with the addition of today's ideas. People of the renaissance era usually sculpt males but Luo went against that to do her own take on art in renaissance style.
