Information and Analysis

With her speciality in Renaissance sculptures, To blossom is definitely a strong

example of the artist's amazing ability. The bronze woman stands on one leg as the sheet flutters behind her as if a gust of wind has just passed. When viewed from the front, the sheet forms a petal-like shape surrounding the woman. The idea of using not only the winds but the flowers to represent beauty could be seen here. Flowers are usually associated with sexuality or aesthetics and this sculpture seems to have both. The winds seem to be enveloping her via the sheets, using the flow of wind to create a vivid image of an elegant belle.
